FINE REGENCY CONVEX MIRROR

The hollow gilt frame applied with balls around an unusual faded mahogany slip (usually ebony or ebonised) and the original perfectly foxed mercury plate, topped by a well carved eagle on pedestal, wings spread and a weight in it’s beak. Within the design of this mirror is the symbolism of the Napoleonic wars and the eventual death of Admiral Lord Nelson, English circa 1810.
