Jeanneret Chair

Inspired by an original design by Pierre Jeanneret, cousin to Le corbusier, this chair is both simple and versatile, making a great desk chair, side chair or dining chair. The drafting compass-shaped legs are most recognisably Jeanneret in style, often being described as his design signature.

With a traditionally handmade frame and upholstery in keeping with the era of the design, these examples are upholstered in monochrome vintage Dutch woven stripe.

Jeanneret graduated from the École des Baeux-Arts in Geneva before collaborating and becoming partner in Le Corbusier’s office in Paris. Using geometric forms within his seating designs, they also have inherent warmth and welcoming appeal. Some of Jeanneret’s most celebrated work was completed in Chandigarh, India whilst working with Le Corbusier on a master plan for the new city.
