Syrian Terracotta Olive Jars
Two large decorative Syrian terracotta olive jars dating from the 18th Century, having a beautiful sun baked colour, rough hewn texture and weathered patina developed over hundreds of years of use, one having delicately incised line patterns. Made by hand, these kinds of terracotta pots were used to preserve and transport olives, oil and other fruit, in beautiful original condition, one having a pleasantly worn old bite out of the rim, but otherwise structurally sound with no cracks amazingly!
Priced as a pair.
