Pair of Regency Spoonback Chairs

An elegant pair of Regency Greek Revival mahogany spoonback chairs, the scooped backrests with an ebony strung border, centred with a decorative inlaid ebony feather motif, the square sabred legs with conforming ebony stringing, the front leg facings each with a decorative little bell flower, all terminating in original square brass cup castors. In good original condition, with expected wear, the seats traditionally reupholstered and recovered in 36 Bourne Street’s ‘Elise’ Stripe. English, circa 1810.
