Howe interiors developed unexpectedly when a valued customer sought Christopher’s advice for his new house. What started with few friendly suggestions escalated until the house was stripped virtually to its bare bones with new plans in place.

Since then Christopher has continued to put his unique aesthetic and understanding of materials to full use. With seasoned workshops and a vast collection of antiques at his fingertips, he loves to create enduringly fascinating and comfortable spaces that give a true sense of belonging.

We think of our homes as places of warmth, familiarity and love, of shared stories and memories, which is perhaps why at this time of year so many return to where they grew up. There is a timeless simplicity to the pull of home. The Queen’s Christmas Speech, 2017

“The furniture, textiles and wallpapers he carefully selects or designs himself and the interiors he decorates seem to transcend time and space, at once charmingly period (a mix of mostly 18th- to mid-20th-century) and strikingly modern, without a hint of stuffiness. The effect is of having travelled to an undetermined utopian era, where every object is alluring and useful and bewitchingly timeless.” New York Times
