A George III Mahogany Linen Press, circa 1760
A particularly handsome George III mahogany linen press, possibly by Gillows of Lancaster. The moulded dentil cornice above two deeply figured panelled doors opening to reveal an interior converted for hanging, above a lower section having two short and one long drawer, each retaining original locks and their original unadorned brass drop handles and foliate key hole inserts. Raised on lovely shaped ogee bracket feet and complete with a curious but useful rectangular recess on the top to hold a vase or bust. A touch of minor restoration may be required but overall the piece remains in lovely original condition, having an overall deep and rich patina. English, circa 1760
