














A green Mohair Velvet Chesterfield Sofa by Gillows
A superb late Victorian Chesterfield sofa by Gillows, the deep button back and conforming scrolling arms above a plain sprung seat, all traditionally reupholstered and recovered in a plush moss green mohair velvet, complete with a wonderful bespoke tonal green rope cord trim by Brian Turner raised on four wonderful and boldly carved Gothic style oak legs terminating in sunken brass Cope’s patent castors. Stamped ‘Gillow 9099’ to back left leg and retaining a ‘9099’ stamp and label to the frame (see pictures). England, circa 1880
