A Large Mid-Century Cane Stool or Ottoman by Franco Albini
A mid-Century rattan footstool having a very unusual turban-like spiralling form, designed by Franco Albini for Knoll International. Albini, winner of the Compasso d’Oro design award, exploited the traditional skills of Italian craftsmanship to create elegant and minimalist designs from raw, inexpensive materials, in this case the fisherman’s lobster pot. In perfect condition. Circa 1950
