C18th Swedish Marriage Chair
A rare and beautiful black Swedish marriage chair from the the old danish region Scania in the South of Sweden. Based on a traditional Dutch design, the chair is an fascinating and unique piece of social history, carved ‘1781’ and painted with floral folk motifs. It also retains its original embroidered pillow. Swedish, circa 1781
