Blue Buluch Foxhound Sofa
From the late C18th George III Period, this compact little settee is the foxhound of the sofa world, with a huge amount of character. Completely hand-crafted, utilising the strength of beech for the frame, mahogany for the legs and soft wood for the swept and outward scrolling arms. Meticulously authentic, the outside arms and back remain deconstructed revealing a beautiful antique threadbare carpet. The inside back and arms are traditionally stitched in horsehair and covered in hand-dyed dark blue antique linen, the arm facings in a fine old cotton grain sack. The webbed and stitched horsehair platform is topped by two plump, pure down-filled seat cushions covered in a late C19th Baluch rug.
