C19th Elm Bow Back Chair

A 19th Century English elm Bow Back Windsor chair, otherwise known as a Smoker’s Bow or Captain’s Chair, having chunky spindle turned flared legs braced by an H-stretcher. Conforming spindles unite the seat with the horseshoe shaped back, crowned with a shaped back rest. In fabulous original, dry condition with a lovely pale colour and solid joints and construction, circa 1860-80
