C19th Mappin Brothers Bronze Racing Inkstand

A Mid-19th Century bronze racing inkstand by Mappin Brothers, the glass inkwell held in a bronze horse’s hoof, a jockey’s hat lifting the lid. The pen tray with two riding hats at each end, with a whip resting on them. Raised on three ball feet, the base covered in purple velvet and stamped ‘MAPPIN BROTHERS, London Bridge & 222 REGENT STREET, LONDON’. English, circa 1850
