C19th Staffordshire Jug

An earthenware presentation jug made by the Staffordshire firm of Elsmore and Forster, Clayhills Pottery, Tunstall. Decorated with hand-painted lustre-glazed transfer prints depicting a range of animals, including cows, sheep, deer, frogs, horses, hares, tabby cats, lions, leopards and dogs. The interior rim and handle having ivy leaf and berry decoration. In good useable condition, however with a few (stable) hairline cracks. English, circa 1860
