Early C19th Faux Bamboo Rush Seat Armchair
An early 19th century faux bamboo stained beech open armchair, the back with turned upright spindles positioned in two groups of three between a pair of turned top and bottom rails. The gently out swept arms supported by turned uprights over a rushed seat, standing on tapering front and softly splayed back legs, all united by spindle stretchers. In excellent condition, the colour and the patina of the wood of particularly good quality, the traditional rush seat having replaced a later added upholstered seat to bring it back to the original design.
