An Early C20th Kentian Style Mirror - RESERVED

An early 20th Century mirror in the style of William Kent, the aged plate within a boldly carved gessoed frame. The leafy crest set between a broken pointed pediment carved with egg and dart and lambs tongue running molding, above a frieze centred by a scallop shell flanked by scrolling acanthus and lotus leaf entablatures. The main frame having breakout corners centred with carved rosettes and bordered with greek key, within a carved acanthus leaf running border, the sides hung with boldly carved husking. Recently dry scraped to show traces of earlier gilding.
