Knock-Down Wardrobe in French Mole
Available now, a simple and classic ‘Shaker-style’ wardrobe painted by hand in a french mole taupe. With panelled doors and sides, traditionally handmade in solid Douglas fir, fitted with hand-forged ironmongery.
Designed to easily dismantle or ‘knock-down’ in the same practical way the French conceived their ‘armoires’ in the C18th & C19th and reminiscent of military campaign furniture intended to uphold a degree of home comfort for officers travelling abroad.
The panels are held together simply and securely with beech pegs, which can be removed so that the wardrobe easily dismantles and can be ‘flat-packed’ in order to fit through narrow spaces, up windy stairs with ease and transported at less expense.
For this wardrobe we have chosen to mount the doors on beautiful blacksmith-made, lift-off hinges, with shelves at the inner. We also have two knock-down wardrobes available and primed, and ready to be painted in a colour of your choice.
