A Fine and Unusual Late C18th Mahogany Washstand
A late Geo III Washstand, the rectangular top formed of one fabulous thin slice of beautifully figured and coloured mahogany, lifting to reveal a fitted interior having a number of twin apertures lacking their original (porcelain) bowls and various containers, disguised behind a pair of ‘dummy’ frieze-drawers with turned button handles. The table stands handsomely on slender turned and faceted octagonal tapered legs terminating with a small ball. Old damage to the LH button handle otherwise all in beautiful original condition. English, circa 1800
