Oval Brown Velvet Pouffe

An interesting and characterful old oval pouffe with a crackled black leatherette top hinting at a design of flower heads and bows and ribbons, set into a box pleated and piped brown and velvet edge, over a waisted base covered in loosely pleated velvet finished with a twisted cord band centred with a rolled cord rosette on each side, stuffed with horse-hair or straw. Circa 1890.
