



Pair of C19th White Crackle Glazed Clay Pier Caps
A rare pair of cream glazed late 19th Century pottery pier balls, the glaze having developed an attractive crackle, probably made by Leeds Fireclay Co, impressed W. Grice to the underside. English, circa 1880
Fireclay is found beneath the majority of thick coal seams. The term covers a variety of different clays found throughout the country but predominantly in the midlands and northern districts.
