‘A Distinguished Member of the Humane Society’, oil on canvas. After Sir Edwin Henry Landseer’s painting from 1831, the original first exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1838. The scene depicts a Newfoundland dog reclining on a quayside with seagulls in the distance. Relined and cleaned but otherwise in perfect condition.
