VERY RARE 1st EDITION TRIPLEX TELESCOPIC LAMP
Designed by Johan Petter Johansson, a very rare Mark I / 1st edition telescopic Triplex lamp made of painted steel and porcelain components. With hinged base suitable for wall, floor or ceiling fixing, and telescopic arm whose length is adjustable by using the counter-weight, supporting pivoting green enamelled shade. Swedish circa 1916.
Johan Petter Johansson (1853–1943), the Swedish Inventor and industrialist (5th image). During his lifetime he obtained over 100 design patents, including the invention of the modern adjustable spanner and plumber’s wrench. He also experimented with electrical armature and in 1919 opened the Triplex factory and began designing the telescopic wall lights that are now recognised as modern classics.
