Set of Ten Dining Chairs by Philip Tilden and Ambrose Heal

A set of ten oak dining chairs including two carvers by Philip Tilden and Ambrose Heal for Heal & Son, London, each with a lattice back over a drop-in rush seat, raised on simple turned front legs and plain back legs braced by chamfered H stretchers, resting on small ball feet at the front. The carvers with curved and shaped arms finished with a chamfered edge. Two bearing the ivorine label to the underside ‘Heal & Son Ltd London W. English, 1922-1925
