1940’s Eau de Nil Lloyd Loom Chair
An iconic Lloyd Loom chair made by W. Lusty and Sons Ltd., Bromley-by-Bow, London with the original eau de nil paint and retaining the maker’s paper label and a faint ‘CC41’ stamp. English, circa 1940
The CC41 Utility logo was a British Board of Trade requirement that appeared on footwear, utility furniture, textiles and utility clothing for just over ten years from 1941. CC41 – “Controlled Commodity”, indicated that the item met the government’s utility regulations.
