A Pair of Oak Chapel Pews

A particularly pretty and crisp pair of pale oak, carved and parcel gilded, Gothic style pews, with panelled backs, removed from an exceptionally historic Chelsea Institution. The carving on one bench reading ‘Spero Dum Spiro’ ‘While I breathe, I Hope’, the other reads ‘Thine is the Glory’ with a carved and gilt sun emerging over the horizon with the names of those in memory carved below. Both carved details are found on the right of the benches, or the ‘proper’ left if facing them.
