A Small Cane Stool or Ottoman By Franco Albini

A stunning piece of Modernist design created by triple Compasso d’Oro design award winner Franco Albini, for Knoll International in the early 1950’s. Albini worked for Gio Ponti early on in his career, and was known for using inexpensive materials and making the most of unrecognised Italian artisan skills – in this case, the fisherman’s lobster pot!  In good condition with minor breakages underneath and a slice of wine cork added to one of the feet to stop it rocking, c.1950.
