“You will do foolish things, but do them with enthusiasm.”
A beautifully French, early 19th century style-bed, fit for the femme fatale Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette, the great writer and liberatory figure of the 20th century.
The serpentine-shaped head and footboard and side rails sit on top of a traditionally-made solid wood frame, and can be upholstered in horsehair to a fabric of your choosing, with versatile options on the height of the head and footboard. The large tenon joints with a steel fixing screw ensure real strength, allowing the bed to be easily broken down and moved. A modern spec yet using the best quality techniques to create, and in keeping with tradition, the bed sits on ebonised beech legs, finished with a gathered rolled border.Craftsmanship and quality are absolutely central to everything we do at Howe London and we are passionate about promoting and preserving traditional skills, click here to read more.
