Late C19th Adjustable Oak Reading Stand Table

A late 19th Century dark coloured oak display stand, probably for showing drawings and prints in a library or gallery, with adjustable height and extendable ‘wings’ to increase the area, when closed the slats form an attractive decorative surface, raised on standard ends and brackets decorated with simple hair-pin panels, united by double elliptical turned stretchers and resting on bun feet with original castors. All working beautifully in fabulous original condition. English, circa 1880
