Nylon ripstop fabric was first developed in World War II for parachute cloth, as an economical and stronger alternative to silk parachutes. Bourne Street’s version is heavy and cotton rich, with the criss-cross of polyester reinforcement yarns adding to the resistance of the fabric ripping or tearing.

This classic 1950s cocktail chair, originally manufactured by ALLARD of Lyon, has the most style of any we’ve seen. The shell-like form creates a capacious seat and body-hugging wingback. We have created the Lyon with careful reference to the original beech frame construction and have incorporated a sprung seat.
