Oak Occasional or ‘Rent’ Table

A charming oak occasional or ‘rent’ table, with rotating square top and two opposing frieze drawers, the turned tripod pedestal base with splayed legs raised on ball feet, English, circa 1800.

‘Rent’ tables were traditionally used on large country estates for the management of rent collection from estate tenants. The drawers around the rotating frieze were often used to order the paperwork and ledgers.
