Regency Painted Waterfall Bookcase
A charming Regency painted pine waterfall bookcase, the top shelf with curved up-stand centred with a painted gilt floral motif, over two open shelves the fronts decorated with a painted gilt strung border each corner with delicate scrolling tendrils, above a single drawer with conforming painted floral decoration and original brass knob and a single cupboard with a panelled and moulded door painted with a scene of two reclining figures within a landscape, raised on carved bracket legs. In lovely original condition, of useful small size, with some shrinkage to one of the back panels. English, circa 1820
