One-Off Greyhound Stool in Silk Damask

A one-off made by Howe Greyhound stool, the 18th century English design faithfully hand crafted in beech with oak legs stained to a dark mahogany on HOWE brass square cup castors.

Traditionally upholstered with a stitched horsehair and lambswool squab cushion, covered in silk damask and on the underside an antique French ticking, in reference to traditional making where lesser value fabrics were used on parts that aren’t as visible, however this is just as lovely. The squab sits on top of a stitched well-platform to prevent the squab from moving, remaining uncovered to show off the evident level of hand built craftsmanship and use of authentic natural materials.
