Small Late C19th Qashqai Rug

A small Qashqai knotted wool rug of typical bold design in a polychrome palette of indigo, cream, terracotta, yellow and celadon green, the field dominated by a pointed lozenge enclosing a plethora of delightful geometric floral and animal motifs, centred by a stylised flower head medallion, set on a terracotta ground with a hooked medallion at each corner, framed by a series of borders, the boldest being of a delightful repeating floral pattern set on a cream ground.
