Victorian Pine Washstand and Bowl
A Victorian pine circular two-tier washstand, the bold ogee moulded rim retaining an inset white ceramic washing bowl decorated around the top with a celadon coloured linked ribbon pattern and finished with gilt stringing lines, having a brass plug hole, above a delightfully shaped lower tier, supported by three full height turned legs resting on a concave triangular platform, bearing an original maker’s label “Oxford Cyclopean Washstand / Spiers & Son / Oxford Designers and Manufacturers”. The stand in wonderful original condition, the bowl having some old restoration. English circa 1870
