This is a broad and challenging role that requires experience in the safe packing and protecting of the pieces in transport, experience driving a van in London and longer distances, as well as being a physically demanding role so being strong, fit and healthy is essential. Good computer skills are also needed to engage with inventory management and client orders.

– Assisting the Business Owner & Business Manager with the running of our Battersea warehouse and workshops
– Ensuring the safe, tidy and efficient storage and protection of the stock
– Moving our valuable antique and bespoke furniture around the warehouse and from A to B as necessary, assisting with showroom & photographic set-ups
– Working with the antique and bespoke departments to manage the logistics of all sold stock or stock going out on approval, making sure everything is packaged and transported in the safest manner
– Loading the company van competently and safely, ensuring pieces are cared for and arrive immaculately
– Driving respectfully, competently and with care, looking after the company van and keeping it clean and serviced
– Assisting with deliveries to clients when necessary
– Hiring and driving the correct vehicle for the transportation of goods when necessary
– Having a comprehensive knowledge of the whereabouts of all stock
– Working with our in-house inventory software to keep stock details up to date
– Maintaining an inviting environment at the warehouse for visitors and the Howe team

– Full clean driving licence
– Competent and experienced van driver
– Fit and strong with knowledge of correct lifting techniques (the ability to lift up to 30kg unaided)
– Good computer literacy
– Excellent packing standards (furniture removal experience would be ideal)
– Conscientious, organised and methodical
– Great communication skills
– Previous experience in the furniture industry is desirable

– You have a proven track record of successfully completing tasks to a high standard
– You enjoy working in a team
– You are organised and work methodically but are comfortable working under pressure and unflappable in the face of unforeseen priorities
– You are a multi-tasker and have experience in a busy workplace
– You are personable, patient and proactive
– You have copious amounts of common sense
