Brunel Table with Cream Stem and Oval Oak Top
Available now, an oval Made by Howe Brunel table, the iron stem painted in fresh cream.
A wonderfully engineered and crafted pedestal dining or centre table, named in homage to the infamous and prolific British mechanical engineer of the industrial revolution.
Our Brunel table – with its mighty presence and expert construction – is handmade in one of our specialist workshops from English oak that has been sourced locally, with an iron stem that has been cast by hand in Birmingham.
It’s a slow and lengthy process to prepare the timber alone; the oak is quarter sawn, making it less likely to twist and buckle and kiln dried for up to two weeks to remove the moisture. It is then sanded back and brushed with a bronze brush to clear out the dust, revealing the beautiful grain. Finally the top is finished with an elegant reeded edge detail and fumed, giving the timber its delicious chocolatey brown tone.
Our Brunel table can also be made to order in any size, the cast iron stem can be left raw or painted in a colour of your choice.
