Fauteuil Capitone

A Napoleon III, Second Empire deep buttoned (capitone) Fauteuil of extraordinary opulence, covered in tattered black silk with a central band of petit point (needlework), the turned ebonised legs covered by a heavy bullion fringe, all in untouched but elegantly worn condition, French c.1860

The exceptional and unreproducible state of this chair makes it special and one which we would like to remain unrestored. We offer it for hire only and ask that you enjoy but also respect it’s very delicate condition and pass on to any others involved in say – a photo shoot – to “handle it very carefully!”
