Late C19th Qashqai Rug

A late 19th Century Qashqai rug, the indigo field with all-over design incorporating a multitude of stylised boteh, animal and plant motifs, palmettes and rosettes, framed by a series of borders, the boldest being of a compartmentalised calyx and leaf design. In wonderful condition with even colour in a polychrome palette of reds, blues, pinks and yellows. West Persia, circa 1890
