Greyhound Sofa in Golden-Moss Velvet and Swedish Stripes
Our Greyhound settee earns its name from its 18th Century elegance and sleek frame. This example is available now, with oak legs and brass cup castors, traditionally upholstered in our signature deconstructed style, exposing the outside back and arms to reveal the beauty of the frame and craftsmanship.
The inside back and arms covered in an exceptional vintage Swedish fabric in golden-moss, pale pink and cream stripes, this unique textile has a wonderful handle due to it being a heavy weight, quality cotton. The pocketed down and feather squab style seat cushion covered in a plush mohair velvet, which is supported on a webbed platform, that we have supplemented with short springs to add softness to the seat.
Our frame maker pays every respect to the use of pegged ‘mortise & tenon’ joints and ‘dovetailed’ stretchers to achieve remarkable strength in such a slender, lightweight frame, true to its canine name and the essence of 18th Century English furniture.
