Petite Labrador in Ruby Red Velvet

Available now, a Made by Howe Petite Labrador armchair, covered in sumptuous ruby red velvet, the skirt lined and legs covered in a decorative Lattice Red cotton from 36 Bourne Street, raised on our own HOWE brass castors which have a wide flat load bearing area to minimise any impact on your floor.

Friendly and welcoming, perhaps a little overweight, this well loved classic armchair is born out of the best stock, originally designed and made by Howard & Sons in the late 19th Century for the finest English houses, whose owners expected the ultimate in comfort. Remaining faithful, our ‘Labrador’ upholds those standards of craftsmanship and quality of materials; the beech frame has proper joints which won’t work loose, set on turned legs in a choice of mahogany or oak, or hand painted beech if you’d like.

Within the multi-layered back as in the seat, woven webbing supports a series of hand lashed springs. These are covered by long horsehair stitched into a linen scrim casing over which is laid a down filled pad before the final covering. The arms are stuffed and stitched into shape with horsehair and the pocketed seat cushions filled with maximum down, minimum feather content, to really make this Easy Chair ‘Man’s Best Friend’!
