Foxhound Sofa
From the late C18th George III Period, this compact little settee is the foxhound of the sofa world, with a huge amount of character. Completely hand-crafted, utilising the strength of beech for the frame, mahogany for the legs and soft wood for the swept and outward scrolling arms. Meticulously authentic, the Foxhound can remain deconstructed to reveal the jute webbing and linen lined exterior. The inside back and arms are stitched and stuffed in horsehair, with pure down-filled seat cushions. On a classic Gainsborough style base, the plain square legs braced by stretchers, can be raised if desired on leather barrel castors.
